Yesudas is an Indian playback singer who works mainly in Malayalam cinema. Yesudas was born on January 10, 1940 in a Roman Catholic (Latin Reith) family in Fort Cochi, the son of the famous musician and playwright Augustine Joseph. Yesudas has been active in music for over half a century and has sung in all major Indian languages except Assamese, Kashmiri and Konkani. The singer has made his presence not only in the film music world but also in the Carnatic music scene. Though he has sung most of the popular songs, Yesudas deeply appreciates the pure music and strives to touch its rich areas. He has won the National Award for Best Playback Singer most of the time and has won the Best Playback Singer in the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Bengal.
Ghulam Mustafa Durrani was a renowned Indian playback singer, interpreter sung in Hindi films in the decades of the 1930s, 1940s and 50s. GM Durrani Sahab was discovered by the producer of the movie "Sohrab Modi". He gave his first opportunity between 1935-1936, in the film "Saaed-e-Hawas", a historical film under the musical direction, of the classical musician Bundu Khan, a popularly known performer known as "Taan Talwar".
