Siddaramaiah is an Indian politician and lawyer who served as the Chief Minister of Karnataka from 2013 to 2018. Siddaramaiah started his political career in the Socialist Yuvjana Sabha of Professor Nanjunda Swamy, a lawyer by profession. He worked as a junior lawyer until 1978. He held various positions in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He is an important political leader of the Indian National Congress.
