Arvind Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal is an Indian politician of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Before becoming Chief Minister he was a social worker and struggled to bring more transparency in official functioning. Ramon Magsaysay Award was conferred in 2006 for empowering the Right to Information Act in India at the grassroots level, making the government accountable to the people and empowering the poorest citizens to fight corruption. After he established a new political party named Aam Aadmi Party.

In the elections to the Delhi Regional Parliament in February 2015, the AAP under Kejriwal leadership reached 54.3% of the vote share and 67 out of 70 constituencies. Kejrival was subsequently elected for the second time as Chief Minister.
