Down a Dark Hall is a 2018 film directed and edited by Rodrigo Cortés. The film is adaptation of the 1974 novel Down at Dark Hall written by Lois Duncan.

Plot:- Kit Gordy is a problematic girl who is sent to the Blackwood college when her strong temper becomes too difficult for her mother to handle. Once arrived, Kit meets the eccentric director Madame Duret and meets four other schoolgirls, also with troubled lives. As they explore the labyrinthine corridors of the school, Kit and the other girls discover that Blackwood hides a centuries-old secret rooted in the paranormal.

Production:- In March 2013, Stephenie Meyer acquires the film rights of the novel. In July 2014, LionsGate buys the film, and Rodrigo Cortés is announced as director, on a screenplay by Chris Sparling, which will rewrite Michael Goldbach's previous script. The shooting of the film began in October 2016 in Barcelona where it lasted four weeks, then moved another two weeks to the Canary Islands, filming ended in December of the same year.

Promotion:- The film's first trailer was released on May 22, 2018, while the Italian version was released on June 27th.

Distribution:- In the United States, the film was distributed directly in the on demand market starting August 17, 2018, while in Italy it arrives at the cinema from August 1 of the same year.

Prohibitions:- In the United States the film has been banned for children under 13 due to the presence of "adult issues, terror and violence, inappropriate language, sexual issues, smoking".
