All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi

AIIMS Delhi (All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi) (AIIMS Delhi; Hindi: Akhil Bhartiya Ayurvigyan Sansthan, Delhi) is a medical college and medical research public university located in New Delhi, India. AIIMS was established in 1956 and operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences or AIIMS is a cluster of public medical colleges. The group has India's oldest outstanding AIIMS institute based in New Delhi. Its foundation stone was laid in 1952 and it was created in 1956 as an autonomous institution through an Act of Parliament to serve as a center for nurturing excellence in all aspects of health care. AIIMS Chowk is the intersection on the Ring Road of Delhi, it crosses the Arvind Marg.

In 2012, a record 6 AIIMS were opened in different states of India in the same year by the former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh government.

In 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the same series, 6 other AIIMS Institutions are moving towards construction across India. So that far-flung people can get better treatment facilities! There is an idea to open an AIIMS in every state by 2022.

Objective

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences was established as an institution of national importance with the objective of developing patterns of teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in all branches, so as to demonstrate high standards of medical education and health activity in India. Highest level for training of personnel in all important branches of Akshik facilities bring in one place and postgraduate medical could be found self-sufficiency in education.

Teaching

The institute has extensive facilities for teaching, research and patient care. AIIMS offers teaching programs in medical and paramedical courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and offers its own degree to students. Teaching and research in 42 subjects are conducted here. A nursing college is also run in AIIMS and Students are also trained for the B. Sc. (Hons) Nursing Post Certificate degree.

AIIMS is also managing a 60-bed hospital at the Comprehensive Rural Health Care Center in Vallabh Garh, Haryana and provides health care to about 2.5 lakh population through the Center for Community Treatment.

History

The AIIMS is run by Delhi All India Institute of Medical Sciences Act, III. Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru made an initial proposal to establish AIIMS in Kolkata, but West Bengal Chief Minister Vidhan Chandra Roy rejected the proposal, and eventually AIIMS was established in New Delhi. In order to establish such a medical institution in India, the first health minister of India was Amit Koury's plan.

AIIMS Delhi occupies first place among the medical colleges of India, also ranked in 1st position by India Today, Outlook India and The Weekly.

Acquisition

  • AIIMS, Delhi is the first Indian center to perform a successful cardiac transplant. The surgery was performed by P Venugopal, a former director of AIISM in the 5th.
  • AIIMS is a leading organization in stem cell therapy, especially in cardiac and neurological issues.
  • In collaboration with Germany, AIIMS is India's first and only small surgical training center in Delhi.
  • It is one of the leading institutes of robotic surgery in India, most notably The Vinci Urine for Urology and Robotic CTVS.
  • On February 28, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi established Intro fertilizer in the first established public sector.
  • AIIMS Delhi is a Dental Education and Research Center designed by the only WHO CC in the South Asia region. There are 3 such centers in the world. It was also designated as an Excellence National Center for the implementation of the country's National Individual Health Program.
  • The first DNA profiling lab in India (1) and a medical college (1) to establish a medical toxicology lab.

AIIMS Delhi's main campus

AIIMS is located in Ansari Nagar, Delhi. Safdarjung Hospital and Mahabir Medical College (Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University) are on the other side of Sri Aurobindu Marg west of AIIMS. In addition, it is headquartered in the Indian Council of Medical Research, which conducts topical and funded medical research in India. The National Medical Library, which is run by the Department of Health Services of India, is next to AIISM. Here is a huge collection of scientific and medical journals that are published by researchers.

Eymcu II

The All India Medical Complex (AIIMS-II), under the direction of Theerthasu Dogra, was planned on a 330-acre site at Patcha Siddur in Jajar District of Haryana. AIIMS-II was the largest center of advanced medical education in the world. The project was laid on May 30, 2012. It is being built at a cost of INR 10 billion. Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad inaugurated the outpatient unit on November 24, 2012. The government is also planning to set up a National Cancer Society in the premises.
