Himesh Reshammiya

Himesh Reshammiya (born: 23 July 1973) is a singer, music composer, lyricist, actor and filmmaker, who mainly works in Hindi films. Himesh, who made his debut as a composer in Bollywood films from "Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya" in 1998, gave music in films like Hello Brother (1999), Kurukshetra (2000), Jodi Number One (2001) and Hamraaz (2002). He received his first Filmfare nomination for the film Hamraaz. He then made music in the film Tere Naam in 2003, whose music album was the best-selling album of that year, and received nominations for several awards, including Filmfare, Screen and Star Guild. "Tere Naam" established him as a successful musician in Bollywood, and then in 2004 he made music in films such as Run, Tarzan, Aitraaz and Dil Maange More. In 2006, he became the first Indian artist to perform at Wembley Stadium in London.

Actor's career and musical

As a singer he has produced songs such as Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Tera Suroor, Zara Jhoom Jhoom, Jhalak Dikhlaja, Shakalaka Boom Boom, Hookah Bar, Chalao Na Naina Se, Tandoori Nights quest' last become very popular. Reshammiya's music has a composition style based on the fusion of Western and Indian classical music accompanied by techno parts. He began his acting career with the film Aap Kaa Surror.

In August 2010, it was announced that music video director Roman White would direct Reshammiya's first international English-language album, titled @Da Edge, to be released in 2014 in 122 countries. Reshammiya was the first Indian singer to sing at the Wembley Arena and Heineken music hall in Amsterdam.

Before becoming a music director he produced countless television series, including Amar Prem and Andaaz broadcast on Zee TV. He also composed the soundtracks for both.

Personal life

Reshammiya, son of the famous music director Vipin Reshammiya, attended the Hill Grange school in Mumbai. When he was 13, his older brother died. He started his career as music director of smaller television series (e.g. on Zee TV). His first film as a composer was Bandhan (1998).

Reshammiya mainly sings his own compositions. He won several awards, e.g. the Filmfare Award (2006) for best playback singer.

In 1995, 21-year-old Himesh married Komal. They have one son "Swayam". In 2016, they unanimously applied for divorce, which was approved in 2017. Himesh married TV actress Sonia Kapoor in 2018.
